  • It’s Your 2nd Amendment Right.

Our constitution grants us the right to bear arms. This is both a privilege and a responsibility. As an American citizen I feel that I should exercise the right to carry concealed. If we choose not to exercise this right, we may not continue to have it. We should never take our 2nd Amendment right for granted.

  • Self- Protection

When you live in a country that is relatively safe, it’s easy to believe nothing bad will ever happen in your neighborhood. Unfortunately, crime is not relegated only to those “high crime” areas. Crime can occur anywhere—even in places with high security. A Concealed Carry Permit allows those who choose to carry a way to protect themselves, their families, and their property. Responsible concealed carriers are prepared for whatever may befall them. Having a weapon that is licensed for concealed carry is a way to be prepared.

  • A Permit Option may not always Exist.

Right now, securing a concealed carry permit is relatively easy. Presently in many states, you can complete the process online using a site like https://usconcealedonline.com/florida?ckmsc=453&ckmc=574&s1=ag_50605250626&s2=kw_get%20a%20concealed%20carry%20permit&s3=match_b/ad_245658002826/network_g/placement_/device_c&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=get%20a%20concealed%20carry%20permit&gclid=Cj0KCQiAoo7gBRDuARIsANeJKUZxbQvJd6ZZkFyOYyqUE-7N3kk2DVIyLBx8BhC8lgs6pGEmg5XNHTsaAtNeEALw_wcB

There are three simple steps to getting a CCW permit that is presently accepted in at least twenty-seven states including: Florida, Arkansas, Nevada, New Mexico, North and South Carolina, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Ohio, North and South Dakota and Texas.

First, you watch a free instructional video.

Next, you take a twelve question multiple choice certification test. Having passed it you can download your Certificate of Completion.

Finally, you complete the application provided on the site. This outlines what else is necessary for getting your concealed carry permit. It’s that simple.

There is no guarantee that states will continue to accept CCW permit online applications. So, if this is a fast, convenient way for you to secure a CCW permit, time may be of the essence here.

  • Costs Could Increase

Right now several states accept online CCW permit applications and/or permits secured through another state that charges less for a CCW permit. This could all change at any time. The cost could go up. States might not continue to accept permits obtained online or those secured in other states.

Costs vary anywhere from $5 to $100. This is just to become “eligible” to purchase a CCW permit firearm. In addition, in some states including Illinois and New York, local governments may choose to additional restrictions and requirements for getting a CCW permit. There may be licensing fees levied on residents prior to b being able to own any type of firearm, legally.

There is no guarantee that these costs will remain constant. In fact, with  the trend toward increasing concealed carry weapons, it is logical to expect that CCW permit fees will increase.

  • Permits May become Harder to Get

Laws have changed. Since the National Rifle Association backed Concealed Carry Reciprocity legislation was introduced in 2017, CCW permits will be required in all states. There is a misunderstanding regarding this legislation.

Some think this is going to make CCW permits easier to obtain. This is not about the ease of securing them. What this legislation  means is that the CCW permit you obtained in New York must be accepted in North Carolina or any other state. This makes it easier for gun owners to keep their firearms concealed when they are crossing state lines.

However, it does not mean that the rules regarding where, when,  and how you can carry a concealed weapon are the same from state to state or even from municipality to municipality within that state.

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 amends the federal criminal code. It will allow the concealed carrying of handguns across state lines, so long as both states allow it.

While states will not be able to levy their own requirements for a concealed carry permit on CCW owners, they will still be able to stipulate how, when, and where that concealed carry weapon is treated in their state.

In states where a CCW permit was not required, those who wish to carry a concealed weapon across state lines will need to have a permit.

Gun control groups are constantly pressuring the government to levy tighter controls on obtaining a CCW permit. For these reasons it’s wise to get that CCW permit now before further restrictions make it harder—or well-nigh impossible—for ordinary citizens to obtain a permit.
