Can I Apply For A Oregon Carry Permit/License As A Non-Resident Of Oregon?
Yes, but only as a resident of a state that borders Oregon. Contact any Sheriff’s office in Oregon for specific application instructions.
Can I open carry?
Yes, but local ordinances vary. Research the specific towns and municipalities, as the state does not have a preemption on local ordinances.
How long is my permit good for?
The Oregon Carry Permit/License is valid for 4 years.

In order to obtain a Concealed Handgun License in the State of Oregon you must meet the following requirements and pass a background check:
Pay the application fee
Be a citizen of the United States or legal resident alien in the country for at least six months and declared intent to acquire citizenship
At least 21 years of age
Resident of the county you are applying in
No outstanding warrants for arrest or on any form of pretrial release
Demonstrates competence with a handgun through safety training, courses or certification
Never been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor
Have not been committed to the Oregon Health Authority or found mentally ill
Be legally able to own a firearm
