Nashville, Tennessee – An armed citizen came to the rescue of a woman when he heard her crying for help in the parking lot of a Bank of America at around midnight.
The police said that the woman was being robbed when an unnamed armed citizen showed up and scared away the would- be-robber. According to ABC NEWS 2, the robber was able to escape with his getaway vehicle that was parked at a nearby gas station.It was confirmed by the police that no one was hurt and no shots were fired.
It is not clear how the foiled robbery transpired. The woman said that she was supposed to meet a man who owed her money. We wonder why they agreed to meet in the middle of the night at a poorly lit spot of the parking lot.
The police, however, didn’t investigate further. The armed citizen seems to have acted in good faith and no one is planning to press charges.
It’s a tough call to make for a concealed carrier to defend a “damsel in distress” or unwittingly join another person’s scripted drama. We cannot know what would have happened if the armed citizen didn’t intercede for the woman, but putting yourself in the middle of a conflict between two other people is taking considerable risk. The man really did appear to have acted in good faith.
